Video Poker is a favored game that can be enjoyed in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your home computer, using an Internet account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the involvement with other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are able to choose the most profitable ones every instance.
After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, some styles of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance another game is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
