Video Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, through a web connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to come away with cash. On this account it is much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the enthusiast inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.

The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to pick the most money-making machine every instance.
As soon as the first round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Further, some versions of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to increase their profits, in which situation another round is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
