Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your PC, through a net connection. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the gambler has selected which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine every time.
After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, some versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to increase their profits, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
