Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be bet on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through an Internet account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the greatest mixture of cards achievable in order to come away with cash. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the interaction with other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A five card hand will then be "dealt" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has selected which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to choose the most beneficial ones every time.
As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that might have been won. Further, several styles of the game give the gambler a chance to increase their profits, in which situation another round is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
