Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, through an Internet connection. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the highest assemblage of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "distributed" on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are handed out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones every instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the player an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
