Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos around the world, or in your house on your PC, using an Internet connection. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are able to choose the most money-making game every instance.
As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler a chance to increase their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
