Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be bet on in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your home computer, using a net connection. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the player has selected which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are able to choose the most money-making machine each instance.
Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
